Our Learning October 23rd-27th

 Our Learning

Math: In math this week we we continued to practice representing and counting numbers to 100. We spent all week practice representing numbers with ones and tens, with base ten blocks, and in expanded form. We are getting really confident with representing and identifying numbers.

Writing: This week in writing we continued to work on segmenting words into its sounds to be able to read and write words on our own. We are getting more confident at identifying beginning sounds and are continuing to work on hearing the middle and end sounds.

Science: In science this week we introduced the concept of computer science and coding. We learned that computers have their own language called code and we can use coding to give computers instructions. When we give instructions in the right order we can complete a task or address a problem. We started off easy by coding a Halloween monster to do a dance.

Social:
In social studies we continued to discuss urban, suburban and rural communities. We created booklets to illustrate what these communities look like.

Gym: In gym this week we got to have our first inline skating lesson. We had so much fun learning about to stand up and get moving! We are looking forward to having our next two lessons!
